Justice Manoj Misra was born on 2 June 1965 and enrolled as an advocate on 12 December 1988. He was elevated as Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court on 21 November 2011, becoming a Permanent Judge on 6 August 2013.
He spent over 11 years on the Allahabad High Court bench before his Supreme Court elevation on 6 February 2023.
His Supreme Court work spans criminal, property, service, and tenancy matters. He has ruled that recruitment eligibility criteria cannot be altered after an advertisement is issued, and extended the Motor Vehicles Act's disability definition to functional disabilities.
