Justice N.V. Anjaria was born on 23 March 1965 in Ahmedabad. He practised at the Gujarat High Court before his elevation as Additional Judge on 21 November 2011 and served as Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court from 25 February 2024 before his Supreme Court elevation on 30 May 2025.
His work covers constitutional law, administrative law, public health regulations, medical education, and criminal law. He struck down domicile-based reservations for NRI seats in educational institutions, held that freedom to trade yields to public health norms, and intervened suo motu in cases of elephant deaths in Karnataka.
