Justice Rajesh Bindal was born on 16 April 1961 in Ambala City, Haryana, and practised taxation, constitutional, civil, and service law at the Punjab and Haryana High Court before his judicial elevation on 22 March 2006.
He served on four different High Courts — Punjab & Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Calcutta, and Allahabad — holding acting and permanent Chief Justice positions before his Supreme Court elevation on 13 February 2023.
His rulings have addressed private property rights (as part of the majority in the Property Owners Association case), motor accident compensation, and child custody disputes.
